Panels

A local company that does A/C work. They had a stock of several types. I chose the most mirror like one and had them cut it to size. I had to do the corner rounding with tin snips. After that just a little work with Mothers Wheel Polish to get them ready. Now if I can just get something sure to bond it on the bottom of the hood (and not come off) :D

You may want to consider using the 3-m velcro strips to attatch it. The metal panel look great when showing but may cause a heat issue while driving. The is a company that sells mirrored pieces pre-cut to fit the inside of the C-4 hood and also has some matching engine pieces and I'm alomost sure they didnt reccomend driving with the hood panels in place. You might want to check around on that, If I can find the place that makes them I'll post it back on here.

the other problem with having them permanently installed is keeping them clean. If they are velcro attached you can take them out for normal driving, and install them for shows etc. You can get the heavy duty hook and loop velcro like they use for blackout kits. They really hold well.

What (or who) is the company you spoke about that makes panels for the C4?

dburgjohn
the company is Design Specialties in Bowling Green Kentucky

www.designspec.com

They have all kinds of underhood chrome for the C4's.
There is an article in Corvettemagazine.com
go to the archives and and look up red and reflective, there is a red convertible with all the chrome, its the owners car, real sharp.
