ok two questions, first are the bose speakers standard or an option on the 2001 Coupe cause I have the bose speakers but I'm not sure whether I have the premium stero option (I bought the car used). Also much to my dismay I've discovered that the front passenger speaker set is missing and I have to order new speakers for it so is there anywhere I could order that and whats the price estimate?

Hi there,
First, all coupes had the Bose system installed at the factory.
Only when Hardtop was introduced, did the sound system get down graded.
Second, Carlisle is coming up and I know you can find them there.
A new speaker for the door will come as an assembly, and it is very expensive, because the amplifier is built in, with a tweeter and a woofer.

Thanks, made it to Carlisle and found the speakers for about a quarter of the price the dealership would have charged me.

i know it may seem a little late to get this thread restarted but my passenger side door speaker just blew today and I am looking to get another bose speaker for it. Can anybody point me in the right direction?

I have Bose in my C6. My son has a saying for Bose. No highs No lows, must be bose.
Ive been told to replace it with a different stereo

I have been thinking I am hallucinating, but when I listen to songs that I have been listening to for 30 years on my Bose system, they just don't sound right. They sound off key and missing all of the midrange notes until I turn up the volume really loud. I have adjusted the bass and treble controls all over the place, but the only way I can get it to sound right is to fade it towards the rear speakers. Otherwise, by the time it sounds right it's so loud the side mirrors are shaking.

I even had my hearing tested because I thought my midrange hearing was going south, but it's very good according to the audiologist.

It must be Bose, all I get are highs and lows.

I got mine from a salvage guy so i would recommend that too. Search on the web.

Hi jimmy -

I was able to buy a pair of them from a member of another corvette forum because one of the ones in my coupe was blown.

Just look around and you will find some used ones -

There was no difference between the ones I bought (from a 2003 car) and the ones that were factory in my 99 coupe.

BTW - I paid $80 for a pair of them.

best regards -
