My brake booster is shot. It is the 2nd one to go (factory & this 3 year old unit) and it is effecting the cars driveability.

I need to know what is the best brake booster out there. One that is made of metal maybe?

I hear the ZR1 unit is metal and is heavy duty, but is it a direct "bolt in" or what?

Any other alternatives?

And FWIW, this one that went bad I got at the parts store.

I need something that is heat resistant and will last.

My brake booster is made of metal. I got it from Murray's discount auto; I think it was around $125 or so.

Check them out; I replaced it earlier this year and haven't had problems yet.

Mine is also made of metal instead of plastic. I got mine at an Advence Auto Parts store. The cost was $90 and has worked well for about 18 months.:D

Im going to grab a new one from Murrays and wrap it in heat wrap to keep it as cool as possible.

Any other suggestions?

I would check to see if that Murray's unit carries a warranty. If so, KEEP the receit. That is my suggestion.
