Hey evryone,

I have a brake light issue. They seem to work fine when my headlamps are off, but when they are one, the brake lights do not come on and the turn signal is VERY slow. Does anyone know why this happens?? Thanks guys

Slow turn signals is probably the flasher.

Lack of brake lights with the headlights on could be incorrect bulbs in the tail lights. They should be double element bulbs. You could have the correct bulbs but they are not installed in the sockets well.

:)

Well, I do have the right, double element bulbs installed. Also, I just cleaned out the sockets and installed the new bulbs, so I doubt that a poorly installed bulb is the problem. :( I am truely baffled. Thanks again

Oke, here is my idea.

When you look at the rear lights you see you have one part for the turn, dimlight and one for the brake light. When you look at your service manual you'll see in the wiring harness diagram one box for the dim light, turnlight and brake light for your rear lights. So all the wires come together in one spot and also leave from there. In some way this box gets to turnlights to function, when the dim lights are on and when the brake lights are on.

When you say you have a problem with the turn lights and brake lights when your dim lights are on I would start to look there. Btw. I did a body off and inspected the complete wiring harness, I never found the box I discribe but that is the way it is depicted in the manual. Maybe somebody else can shim in on this part :)
