I was wondering if it is possible to replace the long brake line that goes from the master cylinder to the rear of the car with the body still on the frame. (1967 convertible). I was concerned with getting the line over the crossmember with all of the bends in it. Also, what is the correct finish or color for the brake line and fuel line clamps?
Thanks

Don't believe it's possible, the line goes thru the frame near the rear kickup, if I remember correctly.

YES it can be done. But its diffucult .I did mine on a 1966 convertable.the way I did mine was to take the line and start at the rear section and snaked it up ove the rear crossmember in between the body first then I made a giant hand bend in it and snaked it foward thru the cross member.I remember saying to my self this is imposible to do and I was hoping I did not make a mistake thinking I could not reinstall it with out cutting it.I chose to do the rear section first because it had the most intricate bends in it and I did not want to ruin them. Mine was up on a lift 6' off the ground and I needed all that room to swing the line around when getting it up over the rear section.I also had to cut the front clanp off and slide the line out.Once the line was out I was able to remove the bolt When reinstalling I actually cut the bolt to about 1/4 long becauce it did not fit inbetween the body and the frame.I will go out and take pictures of the two areas. If I had the opertunity now knowing what I know I certainly would not replace my line unless it was rotted or unsafe. It can definatley be done but I was in a pannic once it was out and I started to think I could not re install it with out seperating the body..

Thanks for your help. I really appreciate the pictures.

How in the world did you get the under side of your car so clean !!! those pics it looks like the glass was laid down yesterday !

Thanks You DMRODCO

The bottom of my car being so clean is the result of purchasing a storage lift and having to look at the bottom of the car everytime I parked my C5 under it.

It represents hours upon hours of scrubbing the car and detailing it.I will proudly post pictures of the entire detailed bottom of the car once I complete it.

Once you get a lift it brings new meaning to car detailing because nothing is hidden and although you could still crawl under your car to see whats dirty you never do.

Good luck
