It looks like I'm about to have to replace the brake master cylinder, and I've been looking at some online. I have 1985 coupe, and was wondering if a master cylinder from an 84 would fit. Were there any changes made during the next model year that would make them incompatible.

It seems that the 85 is the 'cut-out' in the C4 run. Lots of stuff to fit the 84 and 86, but finding stuff for the 85 is always tricky.

thanks

I think so....I assume you have looked for the right one for your year? It should
not be hard to find!

Jon.

You probably already have this info but here's my two cents. The '84 has a 13/16" cyln bore. The '85 has a 7/8" bore. This alone would convience me that the two aren't a switch. Also, none of the GM numbers match for either year, power brake or not.
I found mine at O'Rileys for $122 w/lifetime warrty. But total different year tho...
