I am doing a frame-off of my '78. While I am down to the frame, I want to upgrade the brakes. This is not an NCRS project, so any advise on upgrading the brakes to today's techonolgy would be appreciated. Thanks!

Boy you don't know how many times I wanted to do just that. Vette Brakes and Products has some nice stuff.

Good luck with it.

Bill: Depends on what you're doing with your 'Vette. If you're just making it a nice driver, SSBC makes some real nice stuff for the
C-3. But, if you're going for all out show. Well, that's a different story. Try looking at Baer & Wilwood brakes. They've got some awsome stuff. And, if your pocketbook can handle it, Brembo is worth a look too! Good luck! Dave

Thanks Dave,
I had not heard of SSBC. I found their website, looks like they have some good stuff. I am building my vette to be a fun performance driver. I am going with a big block, so I will need some stopping power. Brembo looks like they have some good stuff too, but I don't know if my budget can handle it. I really appreciate the feedback!

Bill: Contact "SSBC" (Stainless Steel Brake Corp.) & let them know what you're needing in the way of braking. I'm sure they'll be able to help you out. They're pretty nice people. Let me know how you make out. Dave

Wilwood Brakes

A few years ago I had a lot of info on putting Wilwood dynalites on all four corners of a C3. Seemed that most of the parts came from Summit, except the brackets, which are custom parts. Used the GM Vette rotors, which made it much easier.

I bought everything for a conversion, never got around to doing it and finally sold the whole package on Ebay about a year ago.

I still have some of the web site links and a couple pairs of brackets.

If this is something you want to look into, let me know and I'll dig out the web liks, pics, whatever I can find.
