Breathless Intake

I have two friends who own 2001 and 1999 Vettes. The three of us went to Carlisle on Friday and they bought the Breathless Intake Set up. Breathless makes some claims about increase in horsepower. Have any of you installed and used this set up? Have you noticed increased performance? Or, have you actually had your car on the dyno?

Its a good product and makes good hp. The only thing to keep in mind is water ingestion can hydrolock the motors. Rare but it does happen from time to time.

Beautiful Corvette you have there!

Figure 10 to 15 rwhp...on a dyno..another 10.5 hp on the road due to cool air induction lowering air intake temps.

I had Breathless Put their Vortex air boax and bridge on my 02 Z06 at the Corvette Museum last year. Until then my best time at the track was 12.05. Two weeks after the install, I went to the track and ran 11.79 with several others in the 11.8's and 11.9's.
All times are on drag radials and no ther mods.

The dyno number went from 339 RWHP to 357 RWHP. Both times were on the same DynoJet Dyno.

The fact is that cold air rules! I had a Halltech Tric on my 2000 Coupe and it was equally impressive.

The hydrolock issue is real but common sense is a great asset and it will protect you and your Vette if you use it. The Halltech Tric was right down on the spoiler. I went thru a few torrential downpours with it and experienced no problems whatsoever. The Breathless unit is much higher. I hit a puddle one night in traffic and a heavy rain that threw muddy water up and over the right side of the car. There was dirty water all over the right side of the engine compartment. Not even a hiccup.

Get the cold air to the engine and feel the power. It works! :cool
