broken hood cable on 1964 corvette

Hi, I need a little help. I have a 1964 corvette where the hood cable has snapped. I cannot open either side of the hood. Im looking for help, suggestions, etc. to get the hood open. The battery is dead and I would rather not have it towed to a shop. Thanks in advance.

Found on the web googling "hood cable broke 64 corvette"

[It was easy. We didn't even have to remove the splash shield. Just used a 12"
pry bar from underneath and it popped right open. Took less than 5 minutes once
we had it up on jack stands.
