I have a 94 with 51,000 miles on it. Recently on occasion I will get a bucking /hesitation when hard accelerating between 4&5k:mad

The car is in excellent shape, I changed the plugs a couple years back and the last time i had this issues I had the gas filter changed. What gets me is that it doesn't happen all the time and I haven't found a pattern to the occurrences. Any Ideas? Any major maintenance issues that I should be addressing at this mileage other then brakes and tires?

Old Gas

With low mileage cars the gas frequently sits around in the tank for weeks or months. Believe it or not gas actually has a shelf life. As earlier suggested a dirty injector is a possibility since sitting gas will leave a varnish like substance when it evaporates. My suggestion is for you to fill the tank put injector cleaner in the tank and octane boaster. Now get in the car and drive it and just enjoy it for the day until you have to refill the tank. Then fill it with premium. You will get the car fully warmed up, and given the cleaner a chance to work. A side benefit will be you should notice that the car is running better. Let us know what happens.:beer

Another common glitch is the throttle position sensor. Make sure it's dialed in by a pro and make sure the part is good.

Had the same problem with my 85, due to my mistake of when the fuel pump was replaced I had the strainer east/west instead of north/south and it was binding in the fuel tray causing the bucking and hesitation.

What C4C5 says

C4C5 Specialist recommends using Techron as a first measure any time you experience drivability issues. Right Paul?

Thanks all for your advice. I use Textron and that usually clears up things like this but I'm thinking it may be time to change the wires anyway. I took the car out yesterday and no problem so its fairly intermittent. What's the general consensus Moroso Blue Max 8mm's?
