Build Sheets

Hi Guys, I understand that the original build sheet from production is a sticker on the drivers side of the gas tank. My question is: Does GM keep records of these and if so, who would I write to to get a copy of the original build sheet?
I had a peek through from the tailight I removed today, and could definately see a wrinkled up piece of paper but way out of reach, and not enough space to get my camera up there to take a pic of it.

Hey Van Isle buddy!
Do a google search for NCM and you will find window sticker / build sheets available for a fee.
Just discovered they are available for 1981 and newer only Damn !!!!!!
Maybe drop your tank and try to salvage orlook under carpet for another copy.

Some 79-81 owners may be able to obtain a copy of the dealer invoice for thier cars from Allied-Vaughn following the links here on the forum. http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/...x.php?cmd=area
Most owners of Bowling Green built cars can obtain copies of their build sheets from the NCM. Records for the earlier cars do not exist.

Your best bet for original documentation would be to attempt to locate previous owners and determine whether any of them might still have paperwork for the car.

Hey Ken, here's a link to GM Canada, for a fee.... you can get authenticated papers from GM Canada, with an options list for your particular car (build sheet) for any car that was made for Canadian sale.

Allied-Vaughn is the only source for build info on 78's that were sold new in the U.S.; they have copies of the dealer wholesale invoice, which has all the same info on it as the original window sticker and Car Shipper.
