I am going to upgrade my body by putting the kit on the front and rear bumpers from the ecklers 1991 to 1996 style onto my 84. Has anybody done this? Does anyone know if it is better to have fiberglass bumpers or rubber ones? I am trying to make this thing look good a piece at a time. You know with 3 kids and two in college the money is funny right now. I thought about buying the bumpers this winter and trying my hand on sanding it down myself the rest of the car that is and see how she looks. Then take it to a shop and have them put it all together

Sorry this went so long without an answer, but that's the way it goes sometimes. You have to bump it back to the top if nobody answers in a reasonable amount of time. ;)

As for the bumpers... Let me put it this way, fiberglass cracks.

You'll get a better fit and finish when you're through fitting the fiberglass bumper, but you also stand the chance of causing great damage if you bumped into something. The 'glass won't give like the urethane bumper will, but then the color on the urethane bumper will never quite match the body, and the urethane panel will never be quite as straight as the fiberglass piece.

There is a third option that is available through either MAD or Eckler's or one of them, called "Tru-Fit" I believe, which has a little give to it so it flexes, but is cheaper than fiberglass. You might want to investigate that option.
