FONTANA, Calif. -- Tony Stewart received a telephone call recently asking him to be at the Joe Gibbs Racing shop on Wednesday morning, in preparation for a noon announcement. His future teammate Kyle Busch gave everyone an idea of what that announcement will be about.

Busch said Friday at California Speedway that team officials have told him the organization's long-awaited move from Chevrolet to Toyota is official. "They finally made their decision, and they called me," said the current Hendrick Motorsports driver, who is moving into Gibbs' No. 18 car next season.

..... 1st, Big E is killed, then NASCAR is sanitized for my protection with BS like the 'Lucky-Dog', 'the Chase', and the Top-35 guaranteed a starting-spot on race-day, followed-by Dale Jr. decides he'd rather switch-than-fight, and now Stewart will race with meatballs-on-the-wings.....
;squint:

Thank-GAWD I will soon begin bracket-racing my-own stuff again, and I'll be maintaining my equipment on Sundays instead of watching the circle-burners anymore.....
:w

So-long, NASCAR..... it was nice while it lasted (25+ years )

6 Shooter.......The NASCAR chatrooms are saying that Joe Gibbs has also committed to moving the Redskins to Tokyo. Talk about selling your soul....

I can stomach the 20 being a Toyota, myself, but when you look at the reality Coach Gibbs has to deal-with---the key parts of that being that 1) Chevrolet gives JGR a lot less money/attention than it does Hendrick and RCR and 2) Toyota (some sources say) offered Gibbs 50% more money than GM has been offering---it's kinda easy to see why they're making the move.

Sadly, Toyota is flush with money and GM is not. If that were not the case, Toyota probably would have been unable to offer such a deal.

Toyota is flush with money .........

Much of which got flushed this year with their ill-conceived association with Michael Waltrip.

Hey Mike.....tell us again what that foreign liquid routed up into the manifold at Daytona was."

My interest in NASCRAP has been going a bit downhill, Jr is going to go drive for Cheaters Inc. next year...if you can't win driving for the crook, you just can't win...so we'll see what Jr's got.:L

JGR is turning ricer on us, so as much as I'd like to, I'm not sure how much I'll be pulling for Smoke next year...then again, next year all the cars are gonna be the same pretty much, just a badge on the car claiming what it is. I've no doubt that toyota wanted in with a winning team and threw a buttload of cash at the big teams trying to catch one of them, guess they got what they wanted.

Part of me still wants to cheer for something with a bowtie on it, part of me says it doesn't matter with the car of tomorrow and it's fair game to pull for anyone out there at all...but I still have trouble pulling for the ricer brigade.

Maybe I'll end up on the Carl Edwards bandwagon, hard to not want to see the guy do good with the incredible attitude he has. I don't think there's a driver out there who appreciates or is more greatful about doing what he does any more than him.

I need to start spending more time and the dirt tracks again, time to go see real racing.
