Tonight with help and support from my daughter and son (see photo) I finally made the body drop on my 61. It went very smooth and took less than 20 minutes for the basic drop. I haven't even begun to shim or bolt down anything yet. The car seems to sit very high. The last photo shows the body completely resting on the frame. I know I will still be adding allot of weight with the trunk, deck lid, hood, doors, windshield, seats, convert top, etc. etc. Does anyone have any comments on the suspension height? (all the suspension components are brand new springs shocks etc.) I would like to thank Larry (IH2LOSE) for calling me late last night with concern, support and advice about making the drop. Larry you're the best.

Now you must work at a 'IH2LOSE' pace and finish it up!

Looking Good!

Congrats on reuniting - Like the song ---- Reunited and it feels so good---
How long before you hear "Dad, can I borrow the car?" (Vette)
Maybe your daughter could ride on the conv. top compartment lid in a parade when she wins the queen contest.?

That looks GREAT!!!!!! I look forward to the day I will be doing the same.

Your frame and engine work look great too! You should be very proud of what you have done! Now for all the fun stuff!!!!!!!

Nice looking kids too! You are a lucky man! Congratulations on the corvette and your getting your kids to help out too!

Nice work

Wow-that's really looking great. Good job on the engine work, too-it all looks brand new. The valve covers and intake and exhaust manifolds look super.

Good job and congratulations on reaching this milestone. You should have a great summer in 2005, I'll bet.

I agree, that's some quality family time. :D Sure beats TV, huh?

Looks terrific! It's all downhill from here - lots more fun putting parts on than taking old ones off :)

Big job, finicky work lowering it into place. Great family effort there! Will it continue to be a family project throughout.. will be a lot of wonderful memories when you are all together reminising about working on the vette? .Good luck on your progress. It's great to see these restorations, thank you for the great pics.
