I need to purchase the Spare Tire Carrier for my '71. I need EVERYTHING ! I mean the upper 'glass cover, the lower 'glass tub with the metal 'Y' strap, to all the bolts that hold it all together. I mean there is NOTHING there.

I know I can get most opf it from Corvette Central, Paragon, etc...., but the lower tub with the 'Y' strap sems to be something I'll have to get form one of the salvage yards. Does anybody have any recommendations on where to get one of these ? Or does anyone have one they don't need ? (yeah right !)

Any help would be appreciated,

Thanks,

Bernie O.

Guy,

Thanks a lot. They're close by too, so that shoud work out well for me.

Thanks again,

eBay. Might be a couple listed now. Also contact Corvette Mack through his store on eBay. Mack is good people and has a Corvette salvage yard outside of Atlanta.

:)

6880 Mike,

Thanks for the info; I may be in the ATL area in the next couple of weeks and may check it out.

If the 1980 parts fit, I have mine in storage which I never plan on using. I'd be more than happy to part with 'em. Hell, you can even have the original OEM spare tire! :D
Lemme know if you're interested.

Evo '80,

Wow ! That would work great if it will fit. Let me do some research and make sure it will fit and I'll try to get back to you ASAP.

Thanks for the offer,

Bernie O.

Evo 80,

As far as I can tell yoiur stuff should fit my car just fine. I want to do a little more checking on it.

Does anyone here know if there is a problem with the '80 parts fitting my '71 ???

Also, how much do you want for the whole shebang ?

Thanks again,

Bernie O.

Bernie, lemme gather up everything, see what I got and get some pictures for you. We can haggle a price once I'm positive what I have. :)

(You could save yourself shipping charges if ya planned on coming to CruiseFest! :D)

It'll fit and Work!! It may be made just a little different,But it will work!!:upthumbs

Sounds good; you can PM me if you want.

Would love to go to CruiseFest, but my work schedule usually doesn't leave me mcuh time for it. I haven't even been to Carlisle the past 2 (or maybe 3) years; somebody has to pay for the hot rods !
