My left headlight assembly opens fully but then slowly rolls back to partially closed whenever I run over a rough road. I believe that the gears are worn out because if I dont help the assembly to close the motor will not stop running. Can anyone tell me if I can get a replacement motor assembly or even a rebuild kit for this one?? I can get one through Chevy for big bucks, but I would like to repair mine if possible.

Your problem is probably the plastic bushings in the motor. They turn to dust after a while. Replaced both of mine several years ago and had the same symptoms as yours. Do a search and you will probably find a hundred of threads on how to replace. $10 and a couple of hours (1.5 hours for the first one, 20 minutes for the second) and you will be good as new. You can get the bushings at all the normal parts places plus eBay.

I didn't want to bother to go back into it again so I changed to the Bronze gears. Was looking at the gears I removed later on and found that there was a hairline crack in one of them.
