they are part of the Mid America Design collection...so it is proabbly the real thing.

Beautiful car - but not one of the original Grand Sports - or at least not a number of one of the originals that I saw at the Amelia Island Concours de Elegance

Grand Sport #1 - Blue roadster with #10
Grand Sport #2 - Blue green roadster - don't remember a #
Grand Sport #3 - Blue coupe with #2
Grand Sport #4 - Blue green coupe with #3
Grand Sport #5 - White top/blue bottom coupe with #2

I have a book on the Gran Sports, but it was published in 1989 and at that time 4 of the 5 Gran Sports had been Restored. The post above is more recent.
as of 1989
001 Penske Roadster Blue #10
002 Wintersteen Roadster White with Blue stinger #10
003 Coupe Restored to Sebring Colors Blue/green with #2
004 Coupe Restored to Nassau Speed week garb also a blue/green with #50
005 was unrestored at the time of print and was pictured stripped awaiting restoration it was campaigned by Penske among others.

Those are awsome race cars, can you imagine where they would be if GM had not pulled the plug

Exoto makes excellent 1/18 replicas of these cars in their racing legends series.

Re: the Penske car (driven by Dick Guldstrand). It is not a Grand Sport as they were 1963 cars. It's a 1966 and was the first L-88 (although non-RPO since it was pre-1967) to leave the factory.

This Red/White/Blue '67 was the first '67 L-88 to race at LeMans.

Yes, he also drove Penske's Grand Sport........a different car than the photo in this thread.
