Tom Thanks for the detailed explanation and photos. I still have some question though on repairing the car.
Right now as you can see my car has no paint on it just bare fiberglass.
At this time I have to set the motor and trans, and the power brake booster and master, set the body on its new rolling frame so I can
1-make a battery tray
2-figure if I can use headers or manifolds,
3-figure out the steering colum
4-modify the rear trunk area fot the tube frame clearences
5-attach all bumpers to the body so I can exstend them to the frame for saftey
6-check all clearances
To make a long story short I will be all over the body while its on the new frame prior to any body work being done.
The body has tons of inperfections in it so for sure it will have to be sealed or jel coated. So at this point what am I supposed to do.is the gel coat supposed to go on to the bare fiberglass? Or is it suposed to be primed first should the car be primmed now so I dont get any oiley hand prints on it? Should I be wiping the car down with laquer thinners incase it does have oils in it.I plan on pushing it out in the sun when ever I get a chance but for now what comes first primmer to protect the fiber glass ?
Thanks Again
