I am installing some repop dash pads from C.A.
I see no parts on these pads that would allow for
the dash pad clips install.
What do the clips go on? In AIM it shows almost
no detail. It does show 2 washers and nuts
attaching to the bottom of the dash pad under
the fiberglass hood.( page G78 E1)I see no threaded post on my replacement dash pads for the nuts and washers.
Are the pads to have threaded posts at all the attaching points corresponding to the holes in the fiberglass dash?
What means of attachment is normal factory design?
I would appreciate a detailed description of how this pad attachment could be accomplished.

thanks

The clips are inserted through the holes in the fiberglass dash panel, into the holes in the pad, and the exposed tips are squeezed together with pliers to expand the "wings" on the other end inside the holes in the pad.

Send me an e-mail (Snake488@aol.com) and I'll send you a .pdf put together by Dave Zuberer that shows the installation in detail.

Photo below of the special clips - the old ones usually break if you try to re-use them; buy new ones.

Thanks John,
My driver came with plastic push pins for attachment I had no
experience in seeing the intended usage for these metal clamps.
What about the the nuts and washers for the hooded section?
What goes in the bottom of the dash pad for that?
Thanks

I haven't seen the repro pads, but the originals had a pair of threaded studs that went through two holes in the dash panel and accepted the nuts and washers.
