C2 distributor in C1- tach drive?

Can one put a C2 distributor in a C1 and use a C2 cable to drive the tach? If so how long of a cable will work (std C2 tach cable?) ? This 1962 has a late 400" small block with alternator.

According to the Corvette Central catalogs, the C1 uses a 27 inch tach cable, while the 62 uses a 33 inch cable.
