Hello,
My name is Thom Castrovince and I'd like to share with you all a really great day...
That was last Wednesday. Intercity was delivering my 1965 roadster - my first Corvette - the car I spent the spring and summer looking for. It was a truly great day! Here's the scoop on the car... 327/350 4 speed (all original to the best of my knowledge), fairly recent repaint - original Rally Red, factory sidepipes (and I agree with the thread that they are far better than any radio!), matching hardtop. As far as I can tell so far, I think the only "wrong" parts on the car are the '68 rallye wheels, the '67 headrest seats, and the Hurst shifter. But I like the look of the wheels, the seats are in good shape, and I need all the help I can get trying to remember how to shift smoothly!
Here's the centerfold shot...
I figured waiting 45 years for my first Corvette was long enough. I've been lurking on this forum for several weeks - and the information shared among you is mind boggling. My nervousness about owning a 40 year old car is greatly reduced knowing there are so many folks here who know so much about these cars. I'm sure you'll be bailing me out before long.
Long enough post for now. Glad to join the ranks of those who are lucky enough to own such great cars!
A toast to my new '65! - "clink"
Cheers! Thom
