C2 shifter question

1962 rat 2001 coupe
1 have an old Hurst Competition+ shifter for a C2 Muncie. It has the same features that the factory installed GTO Hursts had; finish, no stops, no Hurst numbers and a bracket for a backup light switch. Were these ever a dealer option or.....? Thanks

Nope - just available as an aftermarket part. The Hurst shifter for the midyear Corvette was unique - it had a special reverse lever with a 90* forward bend in it to clear the crossmember (photo below); without that special lever, you couldn't select reverse in a Corvette.
