Going to replace my speaker.......where do you get the correct one with the correct transformer?? :confused

I've seen one in my newest Mid America catalog ($29.99).

I'm going to order one from them to replace my "two speaker" center speaker and aftermarket radio (going back to stock soon).

Check Ebay: Item number: 2473920273

Got mine from ZIP, but beware. Theirs does NOT have the correct connector to the radio. Luckily, I saved my old speaker and salvaged the connector/wires from it.

Repro junk. :eyerole And the prices we pay for most of this Corvette stuff. You'd think they could get most things right.

Did it have the correct transformer?

I asked Charles Siegfried who is overhauling my radio and who is considered one of the best at doing so if he could supply me with a electronically correct speaker. His suggestion was to buy one from Long Island Corvette.

Since he provides a three year warranty and is an expert on the radio I took his advice. When he returns the radio (any day now) I plan to asked him if there are any specs I should check on the speaker. I will let you know what he says.

BTW, he did say I would need to tune the radio to the antenna after it was installed. I think the directions are in the owners manual - something like tune to the AM band and adjust a screw...

The "antenna trimmer" adjustment procedure is required, and it's shown in the U69 section of the A.I.M.

Here's my approach:

- install factory radio (for appearance sake only)
- install chambered exhaust
- never use radio
- enjoy the open air and V-8 rumble (the "real" music, no antenna tuning required)

:-)

:D Good call Tigernut! However, I recommend a little variety now and then. :SteerThere is just something about cruising in a 60’s vette and grooving on the oldies!

Anyone for a little Tommy James and the Shondells?

Ah, now I don't hardly know her. But I think I could love her.... Crimson and clover... But I think I could love her.... Crimson and clover... Ah when she comes walking over. Now I've been waitin' to show her... Crimson and clover over and over ...:_rock
