C3 Frame cleaning and coating.

Hello everyone, good to be back on the forum . I just acquired an '81 with a good frame and would like to keep it this way. I would like to know how to clean the inside of the frame. I am thinking of spraying POR15 afterwards. Has someone already done this? (Cleaning and sprayin) Thanks,

I have done POR15 & MasterSeries Chassis paints. And both paints are Awesome......take your pick.

POR15 makes a spray on called "Metalready". After a wire brush, spray this on your frame and keep it wet for 30 min. Then POR15 it. The stuff is amazing.

Hello 74bigblock, have you ever try cleaning the inside of the frame? Since this is where the rust starts... from inside out!

Had mine chemically dipped to remove rust and ecoated for protection. That covered inside and outside of the frame. Took about three weeks.

Thanks Ckerch, but it would have to be done with the body on. So no dippin' for my '81

Eastwood makes a Rust Prevention Kit that others have used with good success.
