C4 Coupe Suspension Improvement

My '89 coupe has 64K miles on it and is 99% original. I would like to know if anyone has done any modifications to the suspension to improvide the ride. I am not looking for dramatic changes, just something to smooth it out a little. Also, when I turn the wheel hard while parking, the power steering whines a little. The fluid is at the proper level. Any suggestions???

New polygraphite bushings all around would help; at 64K the original shocks are starting to wear, and Edelbrock makes a good-riding shock; but the only way to really soften it is to go to base springs if you dont already have them.
