Ok

Had first BIG road trip in the 96 vette.
Dropped off the UAV (ugly as$ van) with all the PA in Mobile, AL for the returning show Sunday night.

Found out that you can fit a small suitcase, a collapsed dog kennel, an aluminum breifcase, a few other essentials, AND a full sized guitar in the back of a Vette. Took the vette from Mobile down to Orange Beach, AL for a weekend of shows. Condo was great. Weather held nicely. Shows were a blast.
Car performed flawlessly!
Nice smooth and stable on the Foley Expressway. Was able to pull the top one day and cruise around.
Still interested in this Wind Deflector someone mentioned the other week. Have not seen a pic but sounds like it works.

On the gaskets and weatherstriping, I was told today that household vasaline will do the same as the commercial conditioners.
Anyone doing that? What do you use?

Also, has anyone taken a star tool and created a drill bit fitting from it? Seems like a no brainer to have a cordless drill and be able to quickly re-attach the top in times of rain and such.

Had a chance to read the manual front to back one day by the bay and learned how to use the electronic climate control. Trick in getting defrost on by pressing Heater and Def. at same time. Other tricks like that.

Started getting a sqeek at times in the front left brake. Have to get that checked out one day soon.
Other than that. Tip top drive!

Finally,
What catalogs do you order from?
With my MGB we had the Brittish Layland catalog that had every thing you ever needed. Sure they have those for vettes.

Thanks
Rain

I don't think vaseline is a good idea. Get some Syl-glyde at Napa parts. & put a little on all the w/stripping. You can clean it prior to application by using a little lacquer thinner, just make the cloth damp. I've been doing it this way for years * have had good results.:Steer

Thanks

Just what I was looking for. knew it existed. Just couldnt find the right key words!

Thanks again

No problem Brother...Welcome to CAC...

What is that you are playing? I play a bit....got a few Guilds, a couple Martins and a Gibson or 2 , half and half 6 string and 12's.

Need any more help with the vette just hollar!

Guitars et al

Thanks Eagle!

Got signed up for a few of those catalogs, and yes, someone makes a cordless version of the star tool.. Plus I found the wind deflector that goes above the visors. Will see just HOW BAD i think i need it.

Guitars.. The one to the left is my OUTSIDE guitar. Its made by Rainsong. Made up near Portland now. 100% graphite guitars. No changes in pitch due to temperature and humidity. PERFECT for the 150 outdoor shows a year I see.

Have a Taylor 714ce, late 60s Gibson Hummingbird, a new Dean Key Largo Performer, a hand full of Takamines and a couple others for the indoor gigs! haha

Cant stop collecting em
