c4 seat cushion removal

can anyone tell me how to remove the seatback cushion in a 87 i think it comes loose from the frame

You have to slide something like a carpenters catspaw or some other devise between the cusion. You have to push the bar that hooks the clips towards the center of the seat.

Interesting.I want to replace the seat covers in my 88 and I heard it was a diy project.Are they that easy to replace?

Mark...that is only to get the cushion off the back. Once you do that you have two options. You can buy the entire cushion already covered, or you can buy just the covers and padding and DIY.
