Thanks, C4Cruiser, for the info and the vote of confidence! The FX3 is one if the big reasons why I invested in this particular Vette. I became a first-time Corvette owner in January at age 51, and after educating myself with weeks and weeks of web-surfing, I was adequately prepared to choose which Vette would best meet my needs and wants. To all you guys whose C4 has the Bilstein computer-controlled shocks: factory rebuilding is available for $100 each - much less than replacement cost. 
Rebuilding may be necessary if you've noticed oil around your shocks, or if your on-board computer blinks out any of the following diagnostic codes: 13, 14, 21, 22, 31, 32, 33, 34.

I'll be sending in my shocks before long, and once they're back on the car and damping, I'll report to you all about the experience. After all, "Something's always missing 'till you share it with someone else." Furthermore ( my Dad always liked that word), What good is a Vette with all the goodies if all the goodies ain't no good?!!
