I'm looking for a '02-'04. White with black or (I'll call it saddle) interior. I think time is on my side. Corvette Magazine
says these C5s should lose at least 12% more by spring. I can wait.

don't wait to long because as soon as the dealers supply of new 04s is gone the price will go back up on the used ones, supply and demand.

wwr,
I've moved this to the C5 Corvettes for sale/wanted forum, in order to get your message before those who are specifically looking to sell.

I believe a lot of people are assuming a lot on these prices of C5s. One really big factor is the public acceptance of the C6. And from what I have heard from a large amount of people, the C6 is not the greatest thing since sliced bread. And the value of everything is based on supply and demand. If the C6 is not the giant success that all the media predicts it will be, then the demand will be greater for the existing C5s than it is now. This will be interesting.
One consistent factor I do see is that many, many Corvette owners that have viewed the C6 in person do not like it. And current Corvette owners are the majority of the driving force in acceptance or non-acceptance of Corvette trends. And that includes new body styles.:cool

i think a lot of corvette owners that do not like the C-6 are upside down with their C-5s and others who can not afford to move into a C-6 JMHO

My 2004 was paid for in cash at time of delivery. I have the title in my possession and there is not one cent owed on it in any form. And if I like the C6 that much when I see it in person, I will buy one. At this point, I don't see that happening. Maybe things will change. Who knows?

Because investing is speculation and a lot of promises. Considering what my 401K has done the last few years, I didn't want any part of that. When we got in the 401K, they told us that at the age we were and with the number of years we had left to contribute, that we would be millionaires by retirement age. Well, that's not going to happen. I doubted that at first but now I know it was:booty. They might slowly pizz away my 401K but no one can take away my Corvette.

P.S. There was no free money when I got my car.

you need to find a better advisor as i have stuff that is still paying 7.5%. you can not aquire wealth with wages you need to invest for your future. JMHO

Hi

The White/saddle should yield a lower price then the rest of the colors except the funky colors. Because of this you should get a sweet deal now, or later.

The prices at auction today are lower now($4000) then 2 months ago and by the end of Oct they will be held until March when the wholesale prices will move up once again.

As far as the 12% forget it, it's just speculation on the magazine's part. If you find a sweet vette buy it now because waiting might wind up costing you more later on.

After the C6 really gets out there and people realize that the C5 was and is a bargin the prices (private) will move up fast.

If you are waiting for the buy of the century, good luck.

Alan

p.s. To make myself clear l am not putting the color white down because in hot climates it brings more money then a dark color except yellow and red.

They lose 20 % as soon as you drive off the lot. How can folks recoup what they pay over sticker or even sticker? It boggles my mind why people don't deal from invoice up. That dealer especially small to medium size has to pay the floor plan %. My dealer way back when charged 500 over cost. The car came in one day I had it the next. Dealer made 500 in 12 hours. Different era (1975) but sure was painless even after thr 3 month strike.

I know where a 2000 white with red auto coupe is. Also a dealer friend of mine might be able to get a 03 or 04 white and saddle. Let me know.Save the Wave.>George
