I just want to confirm that the manual shifter assemblies for the C5 and C6 are interchangable. Except for the shift knobs of course. I mean the entire assembly not just the shift rod that you get when you purchase a short throw shifter.

My plan is to buy an MGW short throw shifter and put it into a C5 assembly I have and then put that into my C6. I would rather do it that way than risk dropping small parts into the opening.

I installed a C6 Z06 shifter assembly into my C5 with no problems and I just want to confirm it works the other way as well.

Both C5 and C6 shift assemblies are the same and can be interchanged. The shift levers and knobs are the only differences. Remember to perform the shifter alignment when you are done.

Thanks for the response. I just looked in my service manual for the adjustment procedure.
