So to those who have gone from a C4 to a C5, was it a change
for the better? Did you find yourself driving the C5 more than the C4.
Was it a big difference going from a C4 to a C5? Any thoughts?

They are two different cars. I loved the C4 and still do love them, but the C5 is a much more refined auto, the C4 was more raw sports car. Do I find myself driving it more? No, I don't drive it any more, but I don't drive it any less. My Corvettes are not/have not been my DD. It is a weekend, fair weather toy. Big difference....interior room, the 01 is huge compared to my 94. It is more quiet as well.

I own both.

The C5 is a better car in the vast majority of characteristics one might choose to compare.

Some key areas the C5 exceeds the C4 are
>Ingress/egress
>Comfort for drivers of greater than 95 percentile height
>Foot room, esp. on passenger side
>Structural rigidity in both torsion and bending. In coupes the difference is noticeable. In convertibles it's signficant.
>Weight
>Weight distribution
>At limit handling
>Starting with the LS6, engines

I loved my C4, but I love my C5 even more. I always felt the C4 was more of a "brute force" vehicle and the impression I get in my C5 rag top is one of refinement and smooth performance. The chasis is much more rigid in the C5 and the interior is roomier and more comfortable. These are all of course personal preferences and not intended to slight our C4 brethren. As I always say with these kinds of questions: they are all corvettes and all great in their own right.
