C5 Chrome Wheels

Well, I have yet to see anyone who has bought them complain. I mean, they haven't came apart on anyone. The chrome peels eventually but ALL chrome does that. Chrome is not a metal it's a plating so it will always peel one day. I'm with you on the made in China thing but hell, so are our tire pressure monitor sensors and probably 25% of the rest of the car.

I here ya Junkman2008, everthing eventually rust, peels, desolves or discinagrates or just plain ole dies, which is a constant in life right along with higher taxes :L

Take care,
Bill :w

I am an old man and on another forum, I was beat up for suggesting chrome wheels on my C5. I was called all sorts of names that berated my senior citizen status. I was told black is in with the "younger crowd." And that's why the new Corvette comes with black wheels. Chrome is OUT. And I say...well I won't say it. As I read and agree that my Harley is also "dripping with chrome" and my vehicles either have chromed wheels or highly polished alloy." Only wish they made Cragars to fit my C5.

Not all of us are old; at least I regularly get told to act my age... ;) But most of us at least know how to respect our elders...

I get told that all the time. For example, should you still be riding the Harley or when I'm in the Vette and I'm not exceeding the speed limit by 20, the guy or gal on my tail in a shxtbox yells out the window, "Move it Grandpa or get in you Cadillac (actually I have an XTS Caddy-great car). My head still tells me that I am in my 20's. :D

Inside every old person is a young one wondering what the hell happened..........:D

How right you are! It was just yesterday that I made CAPT in the Navy and ordered my '89 C4 as a present to myself. And it was just yesterday that I retired from the Navy -it's been 20 years since I was wished "fair winds and following seas." What the hell - WTF - happened!!;LOL:rotfl:happyanim:

I've had aftermarket chrome ones for a few years now, and I'm pretty happy. The only place the chrome plating has come off is small pieces on the inside of the rim. Can't see it, so it's no biggie. I traded my original polished ones straight across for these.

LOL! I seem to recall that discussion over there. I agree with you about the Cragars. I'd also would like to see some nice shiny Centerlines (the solid ones) that would fit our stock size tires.
