88 Convert ( SOLD ) /1973 coupe 4 speed/1964 Vert!
Been away for a LONG while SOLD MY 64.. BUT I HAVE A NEW TOY....2002 BASE 6 SPEED, TORCH RED!
That is AFU... But I am now RETIRED so I have time to PLAY....
One of the many MANY issues the car has is the ignition switch.... It works, but the PO must have had a 20 lb load of keys on the ring.
I bought a NEW AC Delco lock cylinder.
I bought a complete used key switch assy ( cylinder and all ) .
I had my locksmith come over and set BOTH cylinders to a NEW GM key...
I left the original in the car....
All 3 do the same , you can remove the key in the ON ( run ) position....
Is this "NORMAL"???
Thanks

Mike

Junk... THANK YOU !

Yes my friend, it has been a while.....But I'm back !!!
This 02 needs a LOT of love....
It was 8K shipped from Flor-I-DUH to CA...
We start out like this:
Salvage title ( VERY light hit on drivers side bumper )
Owner replaced DS 1/4, bumper ( with only 1/2 the headware ) and there was a HUGH crack in he "New bumper".
( Since replaced )
115 on the clock
ABS AFU
Had to replace 1 gas tank and the fuel transfer tube + both gaskets for the FP & other side sender.
Brakes had less than 10% meat.
But it runs like a scalded dog...and the AC works GREAT !

And the PIECE-O-RESISTANCE.
04 rims with that " special " rattle can rim black out with RACING runs N drips..
Since been stripped & powder coated with re painted center caps...

This is it:

I will post " updated " WIP " pix

Mystery solved ( and the locksmith JUST beat me to it ) So there is 1 extra in in the ignition prawl that locks the key in position in anything else BUT off. But 3 people have stated that keys with ALOT of wight hung on em damage that prowl over time and cause this " feature ".
