I can't find any crash test info on recent Corvettes. Not that I'm paranoid, but I would at least like to know how a C5 rates. It might influence the choice between a convertible and a coupe if the coupe is better protected.

Hands down the Coupe rules for crash/roll safety...

I'd hate to think about rolling my roadster, that's why I drive slow & safe! :thumb

A few years back, a new C5 was in the Big Bend Open Road Run down in Ft. Stockton, TX. The driver lost it well above 100 MPH in a moutain switch back and whacked both sides of the granite mountain on all four corners - going across both ditches along the way. It was a coupe. The car was destroyed but both the driver and navigator walked away - bruised and battered, but walking.

I was impressed.

If rollover protection is the main criteria for a purchase, buy a 99 or 00 hardtop or an 01-04 Z06.

They have the stiffest and strongest structure.

It depends on how hard your head is!!! :chuckle:chuckle:chuckle
