C5 Cupholder - got this one?

Guy

Guy--Viewed your message from home just a few minutes ago. Thanks for asking. I have a Medium Spiral Gray Coupe with gray interior, so that is why I opted for the clear. If it don't work when it comes then I will order the smoke. Not a big deal.

Thanks again, Mike. Cool avatar.

It's been snowing on and off all day here in beautiful West Townsend, Mass. I agree - winter sucks. I can'tt wait to get the car out forr some road work and use "Guy's Spectacular Cupholder."

Remo,

I can't wait either; even though its been a pretty mild winter it sure did seem long. We didn't get the flurries as predicted, it was futher north in the state.

Sure going to try and make it to this years Cruise Fest in BG, but at the present time I have a conflict with the date; trying to rearrange some things as we speak but this conflict is due to the Commissioner of INDOT setting some training and etc. the same week, I have appealed to him to reschedule but don't know yet :confused Take care and I should know more next month or not later than mid April.

Take care,
Bill :w

cup holder

Got the holder yesterday [that was quick] and did the install last night. Only one problem that I saw. Unlike the pictures on Guy's site, my holder does not function automatically like I thought it would. I put it in but it just sits there until I open it by hand. I waited a long time to see it do its thing, but eventually I got manual with it. lol Really, it went in easily and can't wait to try it out at high speed. :cool

Hey Mike,

Glad to hear you got one of Guy's cupholders. What I like is how it folds away when not in use. BTW, if you haven't voted on this thread. please do.

color

I couldn't recall if I voted on it, so I voted for the Silver one although both colors are OK with me. Course I have a Platinum 99 300m, a Pewter 00 Eldorado and the 04 Spiral Gray Vette, so my preferences were pretty predictable. Last non-silver/gray color vehicle was an 87 Toronado in a gorgeous Rosewood color. I would also take an XLR in any color.

I offshored my customer support to India, would you like the phone number? ;)

You made my day, Mike.

Guy won't know for sure for a while yet; but Mr. Big is going to do everything he can to work around the dates that I requested. Other than the Governor he is the "Top Dog" in my agency. Got my fingers crossed! :rotfl

If at all possible I will be there. . . . :beer

Mike- you must have forgotten to specify the "Remote Control Option". ;)
And I can't believe you let Remo talk you into voting for Silver :L

Got it, but how does it attach?????
That's the brilliant simplicity of it- you just slide the upper end under the bottom edge of the center console, and the bottom rests on the floorboard. No Holes, No Screws!

It is actually quite secure.

Brilliantly simplistic; I wouldn't leave home without it!

1st Mod on Cup holder

Well, this weekend I did a mod on Guy's cupholder device. I had some decals that were given to me when I visited Hillcrest Chevy in Salem, MA, last summer to get my wife's Eldo a mid-trip lubrication service. Hillcrest has a lot of Vettes on hand, and I got to talking with the service rep about my Vette. When I was ready to leave he gave me a bunch of Vette stuff including a couple of C-5 and C-6 stick-ons, bumper stickers and C-5 decals. I had no place for the decals so I just saved them. Then after I got Guy's cupholder I cut out one of the C-5 decals and stuck it on the black folded-up bottom. It actually came out looking pretty good [given my lack of dexterity with scissors]. I took a pic of it with the wife's digital camera, but won't be able to down load it for a while. [Got to use a dock and USB to the computer, etc.] If I can do it this weekend I will ask someone [Tammy?] to post it for me.

Mike,

A lot of folks do that, but GM would get a little upset if I put them on ;).

Looks pretty "kewl" :_rock Rain; but you still have to reach behind you between the seats; not sure I would dig this too much :confused But I guess I would have to see it in person so to speak to know for sure.

Hope all is well with you and yours,
Bill :w
