Hello, hope everyone had a great Christmas,
This thread is in reference to all of my posts in November.
I was finally able to get my vette to have my brother to take a look at it again. With the schematic of the star connectors(in November,we removed the cover to the 4 wire star connector & it solved the issue)& fabricating custom terminal connectors,my brother & I were able to test various combinations to see what worked & what didn't. Individually(LDCM,RDCM & driver's seat control) worked fine but any combination or all connected didn't work all. We also removed the drivers seat & checked all connections & they all seemed fine. MY brother ended up connecting the LDCM,leaving theRDCM & drivers seat controls disconnected. It was the first time in quite a while I was able to drive the car without all of the gauges & alert sounds going wild. It was pure heaven. Of course I wasn't able to open my passenger window or control any of my seat controls. I definitely need to solve this problem. I hope someone can HELP.

Thanks,

Eddiek

That is very unusual (but also a clue) that you can connect each of the 3 modules to the serial bus but not all at once. Have you tried to see if you can connect any 2 to the serial bus? At this point If each one works fine but not all 3 I am wondering if it is in the BCM trying to digest all the input (doubtful, let's not take that seriously yet).

I really think it may be related to the memory circuits. If there is for instance an issue between the LDCM and the SCM, by disconnecting one of them you have now eliminated the problem. See if you can have the LDCM and RDCM tied into the serial bus without the SCM. My guess is you have a ground that is affecting the serial bus circuit. There are ways to check that from the star connector with an ohmmeter to see if that is the case. I would disconnect the battery (neg cable) and see if the bus is grounded. You can do that from the ODM2 port pin# 2 purple wire (or the star connector) while you do different combinations of connections at the star connector. I bet once all 3 are connected or any 2 involving the SCM you get the bus grounded. Sounds like you two guys have been pretty diligent so far in your testing with making your own star connector jumpers.

Be glad to discuss more but I prefer to do it on the phone because it is easier. You are welcome to PM me with your phone number. I normally spend most of my time on the Corvette Forum helping people. I just joined this one recently to see if anyone over here needs some help. Mr.Sam

Thanks,dadaroo

Thanks dadaroo,I just forwarded your reply thread to my brother,we'll try what you suggested. It may take awhile as he is always busy.

I don't know what all the issues are with your car but once all my gauges were going nuts and it turned out to be the battery. I'm sure your problem isn't that simple, just throwin it out there. Just noticed Bill Culee's helping. You are the best hands. If he can't figure it out, sell it, it can't be fixed.

Hi,thanks for your input. I have a brand new battery in the car. I wish it was that simple. I was trying to get this thread to Bill Curlee originally but couldn't remember my password for corvette forum,I know he knows his stuff. Thanks again

Hi Dadaroo,

If you can get my threads to Bill that would be fantastic.

Greatly appreciated

I contacted Bill and gave him a link to this Thread. I thought he was a member here but could not find him. I told him if he was willing to lend a hand but not a member here I would have you post a Thread on the Corvette Forum.
