What are the best jacking pads to use? Anybody have the snap-in plastic variety? How about the hockey puck ones? I'm thinking it is probably prudent to carry a set in the car just in case something happens that would require the car be raised on a hoist or if you have the tires replaced by a place that doesn't know the pads are required when frame-lifting the C5.

Hi there,
Hockey pucks, LITERALLY!!!
$1 each at any sporting goods store.
Its what I use in the dealership and they NEVER get left behind in a car!!!
Allthebest, c4c5

You might want to add a couple pieces of 2x4 to your road hazard kit. That way you can drive up on them to get the car up high enough to get the average car jack under it! Are there any jacks that will work without this mod?

I use the aluminum Craftsmen race jack, it works perfectly. I made up a puck adapter that I install instead of the standard jacking plate. It fits right inside the hole for location.:thumb

I'd like to find a small jack that has a long stroke (i want everything).Looking for a small jack that I can use to remove the wheels at shows and do my cleaning.I dont have to use a puck on my 08.

I made some with some 2 x material and an eye-hook. I'll take some pictures.

The body opening on the C6 is much larger and with care you can just use a std floor jack.If you bought the special puds from the catalog's for $200 each they'll still work :D

I wasn't smart enough to buy hockey pucks

Hockey pucks are the cheapest.

The jacking pucks that Katech sells are the coolest. I bought a set and there were anodized blue which matches my 04.

Ok...I'm spoiled. :chuckle
A can of metallic blue paint and some cheap hockey pucks woulda worked.

OK, here's a picture of the pucks I made from 2x material. Cut it down to 1" thick and its 2 5/8" diameter, I added the 5/16" eye bolt (recessed the nut on the bottom side). I just twist them into place and put the jack to it and up I go.

You should become a vendor and sell those Tom!

Yea, I got .25 in each one, plus about $15 labor. If I sell 10 sets, I'll be rich! Honestly, anybody could make these things. But thanks for the :thumb
