C5 Manual to Auto trans switch

A friend of mine is interested in swapping his 2000 C5 manual trans for an automatic trans. Doen anyone have any info on if this is feasable and if so, how difficult and/or expensive the job would be?

I'd really suggest your friend look into selling his car and buying an automatic..

Its a lot more seamless and much less problematic.

He should be able to get a slightly higher price for his M6 vs. the cost of the automatic he might buy.

I would have to agree. I could see doing this if a suitable car was not available on the market, but there are thousands of C5 A4's available.

Thanks for your input. I tend to agree that it would be better to look for an existing automatic.
