C5 power seat bezels

Boy what a piss poor design. Has anyone come out with a fix to keep the plastic pins from popping out of the seat frame? I even bought new GM bezels and they popped out after about 5 minutes. I thought of maybe drilling through the center pin with a bit and countersinking a screw with an expanding wall plug in the frame hole???

Sounds like your seat frame is the issue. Never heard of this before on any of the 5 Forums I am on. You could dab some silicone sealant in to holes and on the pins and then press the bezel on. Let is set for 24 hours. This would not prevent removal if you needed to.

Or wrap some teflon tape on the pins and insert them. Plumbers tape is super thin and would be great for this.

It is usually the lower seat foam that is compressed and cut by the frame that is causing the problem. There are repair kits to help the foam and also a new bottom seat foam can help, but yes it is a flimsy design no doubt, and new seat foam or repair kit should help with the pin popping out. A big gap between the bezel and the seat may still exist though.....

Bezels

Just installed new foam top and bottom and new seat covers along with the bezels. Even put some JB weld on it and it still popped. Forgot to mention I weigh 179 pounds. Up at the car show last night there ware a good 1/2 dozen C5's and they all had this problem.
