Must be the zip codes. Eastern N.C. has not got "buy'em all day prices for these cars.

Not sure what that means?, up here in the Northeast the c-5s are still holding a good price, also the c-6 is not selling as well as I thought it whould. one of our dealers keeps calling me, has 4 in stock - too bad I just bought my 04' last year -I am not big on the c-6 anyway, also I love my spiral grey!

I didn't understand what you were saying.

"Must be the zip codes. Eastern N.C. has not got "buy'em all day prices for these cars."

Thanks,

wwr,

Didn't you just take delivery on an 2004 Coupe? Even if I did understand what you were asking - why are you concerned with local C5 prices? You own one now.

When I had my car in for service (top - replaced) the salesman had me take a c-6 out for a drive, he has been calling me a few times since to trade in my 04' -I was just questioning the first thread.

I think much has to do with the supply of C5's in a particular geographic area. I know that here in Florida, there are many, many Vettes, the majority seem to be C5's. Our club went to the Vette show last Sat. in Homossa, and the lot was over flowing with C's. On a visit to one of the local dealerships for service, I was looking at a CE '04 Convertible and was interested what kind of a trade I could get on my 2000. They didn't really want to talk to me about trading. Granted, my car is in superb condition and I would expect top trade-in, but it was the time of the 0% financing and so thought I would get an idea. They really indicated that they didn't want to discuss trading and suggested I sell outright; which is what I have tried to do with all my vehicles rather than trade. Again, I think that the area does infuence price to some degree, especially where numbers of Vettes are concerned. Of course being to drive the car practically year-round entices more people to buy Vettes, IMO.

My Rebuttal on "prices"

Sorry for the punctuation mistakes. Yes I did just buy an'04 but someone asked about prices for these cars and got a reply that said something like "You can buy them for those prices( meaning cheaper) all day long". Giving the impression that '04s are a dime a dozen. Just check Kelley Blue book and stick any zip code in and you'll see what most dealers start out asking for their cars. Oh, just because I just bought one doesn't mean I'm not interested in prices does it?

Hi wwr -

No sweat - I think folks were just wondering what you meant.

I don't think there is a huge regional price differential for C5's. The advent of the internet search has made prices normalize within the bounds of how much it costs to get a car from point a ( the seller) - to point b (the buyer).

Buying a vette is similar to buying a new computer They don't go UP in value after purchase. They depreciate at such an alarming rate that it just does not pay to look at the sales after your purchase.

Enjoy that vette!

best regards -

You know there are a lot of things in life that make you go HMMMMM.

C5 prices in Canada, where we can drive them for only 6-8 months of the year, are through the roof. I see posts here that make me go nuts. With the CDN $ and the US$ being within 20% you would think C5s would be cheap - not ours. They bring major $$$ and if they are mint their depreciation is less than one half that of any of the other General's cars

Go figure :w

I bought a 2004 Convertible in Spiral Gray and I get all kinds of comments!! I bought it last sept for 11K less than sticker (45K)and KBB still lists retail for 47k.

I love the Gray!5th vette and the best one yet!

yes, I also love the spiral gray , I had a white 99 coupe and this one gets far more attention, also got a great deal -almost 12k off sticker, the magnetic ride control is awsome!
