c5 technical seminar, would you attend??????

Sounds like a great idea. As long as it can be planned in advance and at a reasonable location I would be glad to attend.

As for topics... some of the most common do's and don'ts that the majority of us face would be good.

Keep up the fine job, it's nice to know that we have a resource like yourself on this site. I wish you were closer, it's hard to find a mechanic that you can trust today. :beer ;worship

Hi c4c5specialist,
It would only depend on when and where.
Here's an idea to put in a Corvette honcho's head: hands on seminars at various local dealers on basic maintainance and computer code interpertations. As another member put it "Corvette Ownership for Dummies".

"C-5 Seminar?... go 4 it"

:upthumbs

I am in COMPLETE support of a 'Technical (C-5) Seminar'...

My recommendation would be to hold it in "Las Vegas." :_rock

I will have my '04 Coupe by then & back in the Vegas area and

in the casino industry (Security at the Bellagio.)

I have connections in the area in getting 'group rates' at

specific casinos, i.e. Sam's Town, Orleans and other 'locals'

casinos.

The $$$ could be right, the weather would be great and there's

always plenty to see & do... :m :Twist

maybe hold two Seminars..........one at a Corvette event in the eastern half of the states.....(Corvettes at Carlise, PA for example) and one at an Corvette event in the western half of the states...........

That would be great! Carlisle gets my vote. I would definitely attend.
I have run across 2 little "preventive maintenance" issues recently that have made me wonder if I am doing everything I can to prolong the life of my car and keep it running at its absolute best.
After our conversation about cleaning up carbon deposits in the engine, and after reading tips from you on changing the rear differential fluid after the initial break-in period, I began to wonder if I'm missing out on other things. This would be my favorite topic.

Other potential topics:
- basic care and maintenance. This is the session for the people who didn't read the owners manual.
- Tips and techniques that aren't in the owners manual.
- Interesting facts about how systems work. For instance: active handling, traction control, the new suspension system. I'm sure there are a lot more.
- Top 20 things you might not know about your C5. (How to use memory setting #3. How to get the trunk to release if the engine is running. How to get the odomoter reading if the engine is off. How to reset the oil life without touching the DIC. Finding the mileage traveled since the car was last started. Disabling the daytime running lights.)
- How To's: Lowering and lifting your C5.
- top 30 FAQs about your C5 (It would be interesting to sample the C5 questions from the last year and see which topics are the most frequently asked)
- Best mods for the money
- Z06 vs. C5- compare and contrast
- and of COURSE... C6 teasers

The possibilities are endless. You could branch out and hold 3-day intensive seminars with break-out sessions (maybe on a cruise ship, so even the non-enthusiasts could have fun) and charge the big bucks. But maybe that's just the capitalist... or the wild schemer... in me :)

I think your C-5 topics & FAQ's are just the type of questions

the new owner needs answered at a seminar...

I just thought the 'significant other' (or non-enthusiasts as u say)

traveling with the primary 'Vette :Steer would have a better

time 'making' the big bucks on a 'Royal Straight Flush' or a

'Jackpot' on a reel machine lets say, at the Rio or Mandalay Bay.

:cool ... sounds like fun to me.

Paddy,
Vegas works for me too :m

I hear there's a great driving school school out there ... with Z06's
On the other hand, there's gambling on cruise ships too ;) (but alas, no driving schools :L)

"Attending a C-5 Seminar"

:)

Hello Tammy, :w

One other 'draw' to the Vegas area is the Las Vegas Motor Spwy.

There are several tracks :Steer on property (oval, figure-8 and

drag), a great retail store, for your favorite souvenir :pat

AND... last, but not [certainly] least, the Indy racing track...

Paul,

Carlisle would be a terrific place to field test the idea. See you there.

Count me in, just let me know time and place, it would be nice if a forum would be held in Clearwater, FL, but you can't have everything. Doc
