Greetings from other side of the ball !

You have very good forum, and i have found it very helpful. It's nice to
see lot of people just talking about vettes.

So, reason why i visit here is just need of little help.
I have Stock C5 -99 (only magnaflow catback), automatic
I would like to add power a bit, so i would like to see your comments
about modifications what i have think.Why?..thats because i think that you have more experience and biggest reason...parts are very, very expensive. So i would like to buy best parts :)

So here is list:
1.Fast LSX intake manifold (90mm)
+mass air flow sensor + throttle body
(about€2.000...is something about USD$2.800,00)

2. CAM:
Compcams XR265HR (kit from compcam)
lifters number is 850-16.
springs are part number 26918-16.
The retainers are part number 774-16
locks are 623-16 and seals 511-16.
The pushrods are number 7955-16.
The rockers arms are part number 13755-kit.
(about €1.600... $1800)

3.Blackwing intake (€400...$560)

4.Some strenght:
oil pump (LS6 model) (i have hear that LS1 oil pump in -99 is not so good
cam chain (double chain)
(€300...$420)

Prices includes delivery to Scandinavia.

So... what you think about these mods? Is there any sense to put 90mm throttle body ? Is there some other cams what i should think? Is there some other mods which i should think about?(i dont want to supercharge...)

Sorry my bad english...but its not my fault, i just have not so good teacher ;)

I only have a few comments. The lifter selected can be upgraded to a 875-16 Pro magnum lifter. You will have to remove the heads to install lifters. The stock head bolts are one time users. You will need to buy all new fasteners. The same for the balancer bolt, a one time user. While you have the heads off are you doing any porting or milling?? While you are there, the lifter retainers can be drilled to drain oil faster and return it to the main oil galley sooner. If you have any other questions, I'm sure we all can get you a prompt answer. If you want some other cam selections I have a few in mind.

Thanks for good tips.
Shopping list is done. I only changed Fast LX 90 to LS6 manifold.Just because i think that LSX was too expensive.
So after 7 days parts should be here and LS1 will get some tuneup.I really hope that my rwhp wont drop over 10%:D

Hello again!

Dynatech long tube headers installed :D (all my projects seem to expand from what i have planned... hmm....)

So after 5.000km car seems to be much aggresssive sound and it also feels.
I had to take it tune because of stalling problems at low rpm.

How ever i would like to ask 2 question:

1) What about those programmers?
Any opinions about Hypertech or any other, waste of money or good tool ?
Any additional hp to get?

2) Some engine sound....
in 1000 rpm i could hear knocking sound under valve cover...i think sound come from cylinder 7 (far in right)..any opinions....

Thanks :)

With all of the mods you have done I would definitely put it on a Dyno and tune it. I use a DiabloSport Predator and it works great for my supercharged setup. It has a number of options relating to shift points and pressures that can really make you car a different animal. There are many others to choose from and I'm sure many other opinions on portable tuners. I would suggest you find a reputable shop with a Dyno and ask them which tuner they prefer to use. At the same time, I would get that knock looked at. It could be any number of things, hopefully not an expensive one.
Good luck and let us know how it works out! :beer
