My friend has a 2005 Corvette with the 4speed auton trans. He ran a best of 13.6@106 Is this a good number? he had a 2.0?? 60 ft time.

I have a 2000 Z28 A4 and i ran a 13.376@104 I have the folowing mods

Blue MAF ends
K&N Filter
Free Ram AIr Mod

I race him 3 times that nigh and I beat hime every time. WHat could his problem be?

WHat do C6 Vette's with the A4 run in the 1/4 mile?

Thanks, Jason

I know you asked about A4s, but for reference, mine is a six-speed manual, 2006, 100% stock, and my one time out I ran a 13.3@109MPH on a terrible 2.3 sixty foot time due to lousy traction. So assuming equivalent horsepower, if your friend can knock out those 2.0 sixty foot times regularly, it seems that ought to bring to the twelves. If he is getting 13.6 with that good a launch, it seems something isn't right on the top end, IMHO. The trap speed looks a bit low,I wonder what his weight was?

I realy think he was not giving the car all it had. He may have let off the gas too soon.

I was told he should get 1.8 60ft times

There is a lot of bunk out there on what these cars will/should run etc. In stock trim I ran similar times. My trap was also around 106. 60' similar. It's tough to get these things to hook up with runflats. Those times are not out of the ordinary. Weather, track and 60' play a huge part in 1/4 mile times. The fastest stock C6 I've ever seen ran a 12.24 in absolutely perfect conditions with a very lucky 1.8 60'.

I have yet to see a C6 run at our track, but, their’s room for improvement on that number. Probably has to get more runs in. There are many factors that will affect track times. Temp, humidity, elevation, etc.

I’m 100% sure that your friends number will improve. I have a stock ’96 LT4 that ran a 13.2 @ 107. I had a picture perfect launch -- launched at around 1,200 rpm, stock Goodyear GSCs, 30 psi at all four corners, full 20 gallon tank, track elevation 890 ft, temp was approximately 75°.

I know a C6 will kick my LT4 to the curb, so I’m going to say I’m confident his times will improve as he becomes more familiar with the car.

I ran a 13.2 on a pretty warm day with my 05 C6 automatic. I think I left some time on the track, and high 12s with some minor tweeking are probable. These thing are really stout. The difference between my C5 and C6 is really noticable. Your buddy has plenty of room to improve, and he'll enjoy doing it.

1/4 mile Personal Best Time of 13.042

I have a 2005 4 speed auto. On November 11th, 2005, at Infineon Drag Strip in Sonoma, CA, I ran a 13.042 @ 110.18 mph with a reaction time of .671 (Bad Driver). The only mod is a Blackwing intake and 18" 2003 Z06 rear wheels with BFG Drag Radials (the stock Goodyear tires just don't give you a good launch). My best reaction time, to date, is .092. If you do the math; the car is capable of running 12's (the driver just needs some work). I launch the car around 2500 rpm's and shift once from 1st to 2nd at 6500 rpm with the 273 rear gear ratio. I also run 100 octane gas, purchased at the track, with octane boost. Great car and fun to drive.[/quote]

The reaction time has no effect on et. They are independent. The et is the time from when your tire breaks the start line until it breaks the finish line. You could have a reaction time of 3 seconds and still run the same et. At my local track (4-5000 DA), C6's run mid-low 13's. I run mid 12's with drag radials and a VaraRam in my '02 Z06. The stock C5's run about 13.6-14.1 depending on rear axle ratio. A 60' time of 1.8 on runflats would be exceptional. I would consider that decent for drag radials.
