OK, I was having one of those "If I were King" moments, and decided that I would create a C6 with exactly what I wanted, and deleted what I didn't want.
Here's what I wanted:
1. *LS7 with parts that were not influenced by bean counters in Michigan
2. The alum frame currrently used
3. CC brakes
4. Carbon wheels
5. T56 trans with revised 5th & 6th (much like the ZR1)
6. Lexan instead of DOT safety glass
7. Crank windows instead of heavy power windows
8. Carbon fibre body panels
9. Seats ala Sparco
10. 5 way belt system
11. All hardware replaced with Ti
12. Roll cage
13. Track tires
Here's what I don't want:
1. Air conditioning
2. Power anything (except brakes!)
3. Radio (all forms)
4. Anything that the DOT mandates.
5. All the electronic gadget wizardry that has nothing to do with making the car go, turn or stop.
6. A "nice dash" as I don't care about a "nice dash." Wanna a nice dash? It's called Cadillac!
7. Unnecessary weight
8. Brake lights, head lights (the pace car will have lights!)
9. Airbags
10. ABS
* Since this engine/drivetrain will certainly be modded, I want a "Carte Blanche" warranty, and I expect to pay extra for this at the onset. Good at any Dealer, car modification shop or own shop.
Remember this car is not street legal! It is for track use only! (I'm thinking road course since that is what they're designed for.) Sorry drag racers, but this Corvette has an independent rear end!
