The overall appearance of the car is clean, uncluttered, neat and tidy, but for those of us that live in a state where front license plates are required, where would we put one?

At the recent C5/C6 Birthday Bash at the National Corvette Museum, the Corvette enthusiasts finally found out where to put the plate! Well, a lot of people are not too pleased with it. Take a look at what some owners have to say about it here.

Ugly, ugly, ugly

I live in a front plate state and my wife and I were gonna wait and get the new Z06. But if I have to put that cheesy looking, JC Whitney piece of dung on the front, maybe we should think about moving to PA first. :mad

Somebody post an email addy for GM and maybe we could all get some input. In general, most large companies think of one piece of feedback as representative of about 100 people. So, let's hit them with a few hundred pieces of feedback.;help give them a little :Buttslap

Jesus H. Keyrist. Now that I've finally seen what people are talking about, I agree, the ft. plate mount for a C6 is butt-f***ing ugly.

It's irritating to me that GM would spend a ton of money developing an outstanding follow-on to the C5, then spend two bucks developing a front plate mount...especially considering more and more states are starting to pass or aggressively enforce existing front plate laws due to the liberals' love-affair with photo radar speed enforcement or photo red light enforcement.

Darn it, GM....you gotta do something better than that!!

Somebody on the aftermarket will come up with something more aestically pleasing.

Yes, they will. Someone who GM is in silent partnership with to make more $$$$.

C6 Front License Plate

Looks like the push bar on a cop car. All that's needed are lights and sireeeeen. Book 'em Dano. I wasn't crazy about it from the start. This doesn't help.

The Motor City State dosent need front plates we got rid of them 30 years ago. Write your politicians to get rid of them. Thats what we did. There should be a law against front plates its a waste of labor/money & steel.

:eek
OH
MY
GOD!!!!!
When GM's design techs cut that toothless grin into the front of the C6, a high 50s-low 60s THOUSAND dollar automobile, were their heads up their bottoms or what?!
And which one of 'em came up with THAT license plate cover?! Cause I know it couldn't've taken a TEAM of people to step back from the drawing table, wipe their brows, slap each other on the back and go, "Yeah! Yeah, that's it!"

I guess that the states that have a front plate have a problem. There isnt any good reason to have a front plate. Unless they want to just spend money. The Police dont need them they get their customers one way or the other.

I agree . . .

It's not only states that have a front plate:(
There are more countries that want a front plate on a car than there are that don't want it. And if GM wants to sell cars everywhere, they need to get the permits to sell a car in those also.
So they should have made up a better way to put a front plate on the C6.
And if the police don't need them, then why put a plate at all on a car?
Take a look on the plate on my car, you just can see "27" on it, the rest is behind the chrome. So I had to get another plate, not a rectangular but a square one.

Another thing to keep in mind...that abomination also makes for a nice radar return.

I understand that there has been a bill introduced in ILLINOIS to eliminate front plate.
The savings alone should prod Blago into passing this bill--then he can continue to raise plate fees as he is raising everything else.
