My wife and I are attempting to sell our 84 and have considered buying a 2002 or 2003 to get into the newer body style. You never know what problems you will get with a used car but we are considering it still.

However, I wanted to know if anyone has leased a 05? We would like a convertible and having a new one would be great from the standpoint of everything is under warrenty. However, cost is probably going to be the big issue on that. If anyone has leased a new Corvette would you let me know what you did and how much the monthly cost was. Maybe we could get lucky and find an 05 at the end of the model year or we might be stuck looking for an 06 at that point. But it's somthing at least worth considering.

Thanks for the input.

I lease my 2002 and looking now for a 05. My 02 coupe fully loaded cost me almost $800 a month with no money down. $2000 deposit, and out the door. I should have the details on the new one today or tomorrow. By the way it was a 39 month lease.

I've leased a couple cars over the last few years, my first Vette (a '96) and my Porsche Boxster. Both were financed on a lease program through my credit union. The Vette was $19,000 with an extended warranty, payment was $383 on a 39 month lease. The Porsche was $30,000 on a 48 month lease with a monthly payment of $553 I belive. My Current vette I bought new, and outright. Financed through GMAC with an ugly interest rate of 10%. Payment was $931. Financed $48,500. After 6 months I refinanced with USAA over a longer period of time and my payment is now $611. I am a proponant of leasing, but you have to do your homework and research on a lease to get a good deal. Also, although my two leases were 39 months and 48 months, I traded the cars in after only about one year to a year and 1/2. This is where a lease has the advantage... if you know you are only going to keep the car for a short period of time. Otherwise go with a traditional finance, even if it is a much longer term (you can always refinance later or make extra payments). My car payment is down near the realm of a lease, but I don't have the "downsides" of a lease... mileage limits, lease fees, etc. Hope this helps... or I could just be rambling since I'm at the office and trying to multi-task in too many directions. ;LOL
