I'm pretty sure that you mean 12V, not amps. What does the voltmeter read when you try to crank it over.
Make sure that the battery cables are clean and tight and cannot be twisted by hand, have the battery checked with a carbon pile load tester, you need to know/PROVE that the battery and cables are good before trusting any other tests being made.
When i hit the start button everything goes off like its gonna turn over...but no cranking and all dashboard lights, radio etc come on but the engine doesnt start
If the cables are tight and NOT getting too technical; Put a voltmeter across the battery. If it falls on it's face when you go to crank it......It sounds like it's "Battery Time." The starter pulls a lot more "juice" than accessories.
yank the battery take it to your local auto parts retailer (pep boys napa etc) have it tested hear them tell you its toast pull out warranty pull out wallet purchase replacement go home re-install start car let sit for 5 minutes shut off car re-start car smile pour beverage consume move on :L
That happened to me a week or so ago. I was sure it was the battery and took it down to have it tested. Its fine they said.......turned out to be the starter was shot....actually the solenoid was bad but they just change the starter when that happened.......do you hear a click when you hit the start button?
