C6 Option list - big changes?

Obviously this thread is HIGHLY speculative.

Given what we have heard about the C6 thus far, do you think it will be offered with more options than the C5. or roughly the same couple of packages, tops, polished wheels, etc?

NO takers, eh. Well, options make profit for the car companies. The C5 option list was rather short, IMO. In addition to the two packages of options (that will include HUD & homelink) and other C5 options, my bet is that there will be a bevy of little checkable boxe$:
1. DVD Navigation System
2. indash 6 CD
3. radar cruise control (adapted from the XLR)
3. radar backup warning
4. XM of course
5. optional tire / wheel packages (Tires too, not just polished wheels)
6. optional exhaust system
7. More high end (more $$) paint colors
8. maybe an optional engine
9. "paddleshift" for automatics
10. An interior appearance package of some kind - wood, CF, or color?
11. Anything else that does not add much weight, but can be plugged into the existing wire harnesses and returns a profit.

My guesses - what are yours?

I would love to see an optional exhaust system. If they go with the XM radio, I pray to God they find a way to burry that antenea somewhere. I think it is real ugly sitting on top of the car like that. I was at the car show this year in NYC and a ton of manufactorers are now offering it. It looks like an ugly fin on top of the roof.

my guess is that they wont have an optional engine unless you want the c5 LS1 and that could be an option,

also, i would love to see GM catch up with the paddle shift sport mode stuff but I dont see it happening.

the wood interior would be a disgrace to Corvette IMO

XM only if the anteana can be integrated into the body, under the body somewhere

That's why they call them options. I wouldn't order wood, or carbon fiber either, but there are alot of after market folks making big $$ for individualizing vettes. GM must have noticed this profit opportunity by now.

The new Ponitac Grand Prix has shift buttons for the Auto. on the SWheel, I can't imagine that the C6 will be upstaged by the GP.

They could hide the XM antena under the fiberglass somewhere? or integrate it with the Onstar "box" that will be behind the inside RVMirror(pass side - see XLR).

i think if you wanted wood and performance you would get the XLR with a wood option,

if GM has the select shift ready then why wouldn't they put that in the 50th to attract people who want that in an automatic.

personally I think that onstar is a waste of weight, it is expensive and only really help full if you do tons of traveling, XM is a good idea but i think they need to expand on their display options for it,yet it that box would be a good place to put an XM antena

the silver and orange wouldn't look very good in an all black interior with gray backed gauges

No offense, but to me it is painfully obvious that the 50th An. Ed. was not to include any engineering requirements beyond the MagRideC. The 50th was all paint and badges, while the engineers devoted full time to the C6 and XLR clean up.

Also, the C6 will very likely get the XLR's 5sp Auto.

LOL! Has there ever been an anniversary edition that offered much beyond special paint or interior?

Valid, but sad point. However, has Corvette ever had a 50th Ann. before? You should also note that the end of the C4 was commemorated with a 30HP increased Grand Sport Edition. In my opinion, the 50th is much more important than the end of the C4, and I've been driving mine for more than 16 years.

That said - let's get back to the C6, ok?
