C6-R on Learning Channel

Does anyone know what the Learning Channel is and if in NJ what # it is? I don't want to miss the new show on the C6-R, can't wait. Also did anyone else here buy the new official C6-R hat, the one designed by Doug Fehan, waiting for it to ship.

Discovery Program on C6

Last night on the Discovery-Times channel I watched a program named "Corvette-Rebuilding an Icon". This show documented the creation of the C6. There was a good deal of footage of the team taking taped up vettes out on the road along with BMWs and other cars to compare the vette to these competitors.

There was GREAT footage of the test team in Germany taking the cars out on the autobahn. One of the two test cars broke when a 15 cent part in the fuel pump was out of tolerance and stopped working. There was a camera in the car and they stated that the estimated top speed was 175 mph but they were pleaseantly surprised to see the needle go past 180. You could see it on camera and it appeared to be at 184!!!! It was unbelievable watching the car pass slower cars in right lanes.

Some day my '88 is going to my son and I am going to get a C6!

That's only 133 MPH. I've gone faster than that! In a C6?? C'mon... that's child's play... not even pushing it. Bet the car runs in 6th at like 2500RPMs at that speed.

Yeah, your right, 74BB. Obviously math wasn't one of my strong points in school! :L But it still sounds impressive, though.

I seen that show a good month ago, I don't recall the autobahn but I do love the testing at Nurburgring. At what point of the show was the Autobahn part because I did miss a couple mins in the beginning.

Those guys that engineer the C6 kept talking about quality on the new car and they did it with such sincerity. I wish I could talk to them in person.

133 for the 90 minute run but the camera shot that I was referring to clearly shows 184 MPH - NOT KPH. That is fast regardless.
