C6 Shifter Makes Rattling Noise?

I have about 1000 miles on my C6, C51, 6speed vette now and when I am climbing in RPM in 2nd and 3rd gears mostly the shifter knob or shifter seems to vibrate with a rattling noise as if my ring is rattling on it. Seems to go away to a degree after the car warms up in about 15 to 20 minutes. Someone in another forum says there is a GM memo on this. I can't find it and the dealer knows nothing of it. Anyone know of or had this problem?
Thanks

Fairly common problem on C5's. Especially with aftermarket shifter. I wouldn't worry about it. It usually makes the noise when you are on fast peddle pretty heavy right?

Yeah it happens at mid to the upper end of the revs. 5000 rpm and up.

Ah, this brings back memories. My 1968 SS396 Camaro 4 speed used to do the exact same thing. I'd rest my ring on the shift knob and it would rattle-especially when I was exercising the rat. Of course, my Camaro was a brash and very powerful muscle car. It made a lot of noise and turned most heads. Even the old men in the vettes waved occasionally. I always enjoyed the feeling and the sound. After all, hundreds of impatient ponies were passing just beneath that shifter. Hmmmmm, so the C6 shifter does the same thing? Could it be because the C6 is a brash powerful muscle car and not some thoroughly domesticated luxury sedan? Aha! Chevy you done good! og
